No New Posts Amon Ereb - 1 Viewing

Amon Ereb (S. amon "hill" + ereb "isolated, lonely") was the broad, shallow-sided hill that dominated the southern plains of East Beleriand. As the highest point in that region and the easternmost hill of Andram, which was standing alone, it had tremendous strategic importance, because it guarded the eastern passage around the Long Wall of the Andram into the southern parts of Beleriand and the northern Taur-im-Duinath. It was here that Denethor of the Nandor met his end in the First Battle.

No New Posts Andram and the Gates of Sirion

Andram (S. 'long wall'; and = long, ram = wall) was the long wall of hills that ran across Beleriand west to east, from Nargothrond to the Gates of Sirion and ending to Ramdal. Its easternmost hill was Amon Ereb, which usually was not considered a part of Andram.
The Gates of Sirion was the cavernous mouth in the southern hills of the Andram where the River Sirion emerged from its underground course. Falls of Sirion was the mighty thundering falls of the River Sirion, where its waters fell beneath the earth and flowed under the hills of the Andram for nine miles before emerging again.

No New Posts Taur-im-Duinath

Taur-im-Duinath was the dark and gloomy forest that extended over a vast area of land to the south of Beleriand. Not much is known about these woods because no elves live there.

Board Description
East Beleriand
That part of Beleriand that lay east of the River Sirion, and west of the Gelion. This region was largely under the control of the Sons of Fëanor during the First Age. Amrod (rod = power) (Years of the Trees – First Age 575), with his twin brother Amras, was the youngest of the seven Sons of Fëanor. After Fëanor's death he dwelt in the wide plains of East Beleriand and was known as a great hunter.
